Well.......I tried it this morning at 6:45. It was 51 degrees and calm. I warmed up for a good while and then rolled up to the stop sign at Cruger and Main.
I started as I thought I might do it in competition and began settling into what I thought might be a rhythmic cadence which still produced power. I wasn't bouncing on the seat so that was a good sign. Even though I have no aero bars and tt seat set up, I found myself sliding forward on the saddle and while in the drops I was able to achieve a fairly decent tuck.
I like Cruger as a training course because even though it isn't the full 5k it is a false flat and it is uphill all the way to Dee-Mack road.
I finished with a not all that impressive effort even though I had to work really hard to keep my speed above 18. Not even close to last year's results posted on the HISO web site.
Time Trialing is.........hard. It also is from Hades. But a worthy challenge none the less.
Gonna go for it!
